Ontario
Drinking Water Stewardship Program

Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA), as a Source Protection Authority under the Clean Water Act, now has Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program funding available for property owners within specific areas near municipal water supplies.

Funding is available to all landowners (residential, business, institutional, farm) with properties that are located within or extend into the 100-metre radius or the two-year time-of-travel* of a municipal wellhead and/or the 200-metre radius or intake protection zone-one (IPZ-1) for a municipal surface water intake. Click here to view maps of eligible areas.

* time of travel is the time it takes groundwater and possible contaminants
to reach a municipal well, based on the characteristics of the local aquifer.
