)
- Early Response

If you own property in a vulnerable area near a municipal drinking water source, conditions and activities on your property can potentially impact that water supply. You may be eligible for an ODWSP - Early Response funding grant to implement projects that will help protect sources of municipal water. More Information...

The Severn Sound Sustainability Plan is a vision for the Severn Sound watershed in the year 2050. It includes Goals,  Strategic  Directions  and  Actions  that  will,  when  implemented,  ensure  the  sustainability  of  the  watershed  for  generations  to  come.  The Severn Sound Sustainability Plan was finalized and endorsed by all 9 partner municipalities in the Spring of 2009. SSEA, North Simcoe Stewardship, and the municipalities of Tay, Tiny, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, Severn, Midland, Penetanguishene, and Orillia are working together to implement the 2012 Tree Seedling Distribution Program.

The deadline for ordering tree seedlings for spring 2012 has passed. waiting list/email distribution list information. 


SEVERN SOUND WATER QUALITY

The SSEA, monitors 11 stations throughout the Sound in an effort to detect long-term changes in water quality.

Working Around Water

Are you on a private well for drinking water and household use? Find out how to protect and maintain a safe water supply for your family through a FREE educational home visit. Well Aware visits are voluntary, confidential, and non-regulatory, and include recommendations for maintaining a healthy well and septic system.
