Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program

Early Response (Ended December 2012)

The Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program (ODWSP) Early Response Program funding ended in December 2012. Through the program, funding assistance was provided to 46 projects that were located within vulnerable zones near municipal drinking water supplies in the Severn Sound Source Protection Area.

More than $100,000 in grant money was spent on projects that included: water well upgrades, proper plugging and sealing of unused wells, septic system upgrades or replacements, and reduction of chemicals.

Early Actions (Ended September 30, 2010)

The Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program (ODWSP) Early Actions Program funding ended on September 30, 2010. Through the program, funding assistance was provided to 104 projects that were located within vulnerable zones next to municipal sources of drinking water in the Severn Sound Source Protection Area.

Over $305,000 in grant money was spent on projects such as private well upgrades & repairs, decommissioning unused wells, septic system upgrades & repairs, erosion & run-off control measures, and pollution prevention reviews for small & medium sized businesses.
